Mr. Ahmed Maher

Senior associate at El-Borai & Partners. Mr. Maher heads the firm’s Corporate M&A and commercial departments. He has over 10 years of experience in the fields of general corporate, commercial, M&As, capital markets practices, consumer protection, data protection, banking and finance, as well as litigation practice.

Maher has significant experience in advising regional and international banks, financial institutions and companies on project finance, project development, banking and finance. He had advised and represented leading banks, financial institutions, and companies, in both capacities as borrowers and lenders, in connection with bilateral and syndicated facilities, including but not limited to 1-Ninety Project (amounting 1.5 bn), Egyptian Ethylene & Derivatives (amounting USD 84,000,000 and USD 40.000.000), 90 Avenue Project, SECON project (amounting 600,000,000) and l’Avenir Project (amounting EGP 500,000,000)

Maher has extensive experience in drafting and reviewing a wide range of commercial agreements, financing agreement and advising clients on general corporate, capital market transactions, mergers and acquisitions, commercial matters, restructuring, corporate finance, and corporate advisory work. His experience encompasses the provision of legal services and advice concerning all phases of ventures, mergers & acquisitions, MOAs, SHAs, SPAs to both domestic and foreign buyers and sellers. He also provides legal advice to clients on transactional matters and executed M&A transactions including conducting legal due diligence, drafting and negotiating transaction documents. He advises national and multinational companies on foreign investment and doing business in Egypt.

He had advised and represented leading local and international clients on general corporate advisory matters. Mr. Maher represented mega companies and multinationals such as the Chipsy, Nestle, Orascom Financial Holding (OFH), Patchi, Miraco, Acwa Powers Groups, H.B Fuller, Fawry FMCG, Industrial Steel Products Company, and Media for industry, AGS and Hamburgsud, Samaya Electronics Egypt, Zilaa Capital, Philip Morris Misr, IBN, InterCement, Sanofi, Ridgewood, Network Global, Signify, Chema Industries and Credit Guarantee Company.

He also regularly advises on regulatory and licensing requirements, the formation of joint ventures and strategic alliances and the negotiation of commercial agreements.

Mr. Maher has graduated from Law School – Cairo University in 2012.
